Happy Monday

Fingrass

Hi everyone! How was your week?

One of my biggest joys these days is the chance to observe my son discover new things.

A memory that will forever stay with me was when I turned on a set of Moroccan lamps. In that mere second when the colors of blue, red, yellow, and white danced before his face, his eyes widened and he let out a definite gasp. It was like his whole little body was overwhelmed by the beauty of it all.  I hope that I have many more moments in this lifetime to offer him that kind of amazement.

Another wonderful recollection was when Carl and I introduced him to grass for the first time. As adults, we forget how something as common as a field of green blades can actually be sharp and ticklish. But to a child, it’s a sensation that can’t be put into words. The first time we sat Fin down on a patch, he gave us a face that can be best described as a mixture of confused, intrigued, and tickled. We had to put socks on his feet so that it wouldn’t be too overwhelming.

I think this is one of the aspects of being a new parent that I enjoy the most:  watching my son meet the world in all its magical wonder and being able to come along for the journey.

I hope you all had a lovely week as well. I’d love to hear all about it in the comments section or feel free to put a link to your own blogs.
