Gloss and Stones

It’s no secret that I have a fondness for beauty products. You can read a bit more about this love affair here and here

So when Grace (aka Twitter’s darling @Divasoria) asked me to be part of her well-loved ‘Glossy’ series, I took it as an opportunity to remember my days as a beauty editor.

With the help of the husbands’s DSLR, I spent a lazy weekday morning pulling out my stash and styling them as best as possible in our apartment.

This is one of the pictures from the feature.

I love this one because it displays my other ardour, turquoise pendants.

From top clockwise:

1. I bought this pendant from a Nepalese man in the Glebe Markets. I don’t use it as often as the others, but it does have such lovely colours.

2. I designed this beauty myself. My mom and I met a Peruvian jewelery maker when we were in Alicante last year, so I chose a stone and designed it exactly how I wanted. It’s one of my favourites with a black dress.

3. This little one was given to me by my sister-in-law. I love how we both adore silver and semi-precious stones. I wear this one to work quite often.

4. This tear-drop was given to me by my great grandmother, its story can be found here.
