I was recently invited to take part in a Flow Surf Yoga Samba Retreat that was held at Windward House in Batangas. My post this weekend will be all about the retreat, but first I wanted to introduce you to the beautiful house. It’s been a longtime hope of mine to be invited to check out this beach house made mainly with concrete and wood. Needless to say, the house didn’t disappoint. It was so nice to see how the use of two simple items were able to produce a home filled with warmth, natural light, and functionality. Here are some photos from my weekend: The dining room. I love how wooden slats are used to help diffuse light and offer a warm tone to the whole house. The house has two private casitas that are perfect for couples or those with small children. The bedrooms in the casitas are super comfortable and fully air-conditioned. I loved the attention to detail and the amount of space in the bathrooms.There’s something about big bathrooms that just makes you feel like you’re on vacation. The main house has one large bedroom that can house 8 people comfortably. There’s also a roof deck for sunrise yoga sessions. My son was in heaven with all the toys that were put out for the kids. Such a nice touch to make the home family-friendly. The pool at Windward House has a wading area that’s ideal for just lounging around. Especially during sunset. The house is a just few steps from the many beaches around the area. Want to know the best part? You no longer have to be invited to see this house for yourself. Windward House is now available for rent. It’s the perfect weekend getaway for families or well-behaved groups of friends. Rowdy teenagers need not apply.
