I’m rather particular when it comes to the products I use on my son’s skin. As a new mom, who wouldn’t be? Which is why I often border on the side of caution when brands invite me to try their baby lines. No one wants to turn their child into a guinea pig.
But since I’ve been a fan of VMV for quite a number of years (I even raved about their Granda Minnie Mommycoddline All Over Lotion in a previous post) I was happy to accept their offer to have Fin try a few other products from their Granda Minnie line. I hope you enjoy my review and photographs co-starring some of my son’s toys.
VMV has also been kind enough to offer my readers a generous 15% discount on any item from their online store till the month of June. You can find more details below.
Grandma Minnie’s Coo and Clean Baby Wash (PHP 940)
A super gentle hair + body wash that doesn’t have any fragrance. It lathers like a boss and cleans off the day’s sweat and play using coconut-derived monolaurin. Since my son and I share a bathroom, I sometimes use it as my facial wash for my morning shower and it works just fine for that purpose.
Grandma Minnie’s The Big, Brave Boo-Boo Balm (PHP 1,080)
I’m not going to lie. My son’s skin never touched this product. Why? Because I stole it. This balm was too good to share. It’s broad spectrum and has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. Perfect for cuts and scrapes (I promise I’ll share it if Fin gets a boo-boo) and when you have those pesky dry cuticles. It also feels wonderful on your lips. It’s definitely one of those products that should be in your bag at all times. They also have a smaller tube-version which is great for travel.
Granda Minni’s Oil’s Well Nurturing Do-It-Oil (PHP 1,160)
My son’s pediatrician is a big fan of prescribing virgin coconut oil for a number of ailments. He often recommends placing a drop of VCO near the ear canal every few weeks for it to gently slide in and soften any hardened ear wax. This trick is great for grownups too. This bottle of organic cold-pressed Virgin Coconut Oil was the perfect partner to many of our pedia’s requests. It also works well for any rashes or irritation near the diaper area and is a great after shower moisturizer.
If you’re interested in trying these products for yourself. VMV is offering a generous discount for my readers till June 30, 2014. Details can be found here:
I love the Oil is Well! When my youngest had very dry legs and arms as a baby, he was prescribed a steroid ointment. I chose to use the VCO on his skin after his bath (before towelling off) and it worked so well! 🙂 Smells like biko, but it’s okay, I like biko anyway.
Haha. Yes, it definitely has that coconut smell. I’ve learned that the smell gets stronger the older the oil is. I hope the you find the 15% discount useful! 🙂
Hooray! VMV was what my pedia recommended when I was looking for a sunblock for my baby…I ended up buying the baby variant for him and the Armada for me! I love them both 🙂
I love their sunblocks! I use VMV’s SPF 30 on my face and neck every morning. I hope you find their 15% discount useful. 🙂
