vmv4If you’re a regular reader of this blog, you’ll know that I’m a huge fan of VMV Hypoallergenics (Click herehere, and here for proof).

VMV is a Philippine-based skincare brand that uses the amazing benefits of virgin coconut oil in many of their products. They have stores in New York and Singapore and have been praised in magazines like Marie Claire and Glamour.

You can imagine how happy I was when LJ Pinon from VMV’s Marketing Department contacted me expressing their interest to tie up with this site. If there’s one thing better than getting to review all sorts of beauty products, it’s getting to try those from a brand I already use.

I was happy to offer VMV a three part feature showcasing some of the many skincare goodies they offer. For the first post, I wanted to introduce my three holy-grail VMV products. These are the concoctions I always make sure are in my beauty stash, especially if I’m heading out to town and planning to spend time in the sun. I hope you think they’re worth a try too.

vmv1Armada Face Cover SPF 30:  A full-spectrum (UVA and UVB protection) sunblock to be worn everyday on the face and neck.

Pros: Daily sunblock can’t get any better than this. It goes on clear, doesn’t turn me into an oily mess, and has no fragrance. I may try other brands once in a while, but I always run back to this formulation. I put a generous amount of this sunblock on my face and neck to serve as my primer every morning.

Cons: None actually. The packaging is simple and the sunblock is worth its price.

vmv2Armada Moisturising Protective Lip Balm SPF 60+: A high protection lip salve that keeps the sensitive skin on your lips moisturised and free from burns.

Pros: I’ve tried other lip balms with SPF, but none goes on as well as this little tube. My lips are shiny and soft the whole day.

Cons: Not really a con, but more of a suggestion. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if VMV made a tinted versions of this wonder product? Hint hint.

vmv3Skin Savvy 60: Before there was BB Cream, there was Skin Savvy. This highly pigmented sunblock protects your skin and gives you unbeatable coverage at the same time.

Pros: If you can find your perfect shade in this product, it is worth its weight in gold. Skin looks flawless, pores vanish, and you know that you’re super protected from the sun’s glaring stare. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve received compliments about my skin while wearing this.

Cons: I’ve used this product for years and I was disappointed when they changed the packaging from a nifty tube to a glass container that I feel wastes quite a bit of this thick liquid. They also changed their shade chart, which made it a tad confusing when I needed to replenish my stock. I once fit a shade called Nutty perfectly, but now I don’t quite fit their new shade scale as well. My closest shade is N-3.

I recommend finding your nearest darker shade then mixing it with their Armada SPF 40  to make your perfect color.
