As part of our wonderful staycation at Discovery Primea a few weekends ago, Carl and I were given the chance to try the special menu that Tapenade is whipping up for this coming Valentine’s. Discovery has quite a number of Valentine’s deals available for the love month and I can’t wait to share them with you below. But first, have a look at the intimate meal we were invited to try.
Chandon Brut Australian Sparkling Wine: The meal started with a glass of bubbly that was crisp and not too sweet, just the way we like it.
Tapenade’s Salad Room: You’re first invited to step into Tapenade’s salad room which has to be one the most beautifully curated buffet selections in the city.
It has such a beautiful selection of local and imported greens (not to mention all you can eat fresh oysters!) and delicious cheeses, marinated fruits and vegetables, and homemade dressings. I would happily go back to Tepanade just for their salad room. It’s the perfect venue for a lunch meeting.
What’s also great about Tapenade’s Valentine’s Menu is that you and your partner get different dishes and are encouraged to share bites and mix and match to get a wider variety. Here were the dishes we were invite to try.
FIRST DISH
(For Him) Spanish “Arroz Caldoso”: Prawns, Mussels, Clams, Tomato Soffritto, Jamon, Saffron Broth
(For Her) Provencal Potato Gnocchi: Porcini, Shitake, Button Mushrooms, Truffle Cream
SECOND DISH:
(For Him) Grilled U.S. Beef “Mignonettes”: Fresh Mushrooms and Asparagus, Potatoes “Boulanger”, Creamy Onion “Soubise”, Red Wine Sauce
(For Her) Greek Seafood Yousevesti: Prawns, Clams, Orzo, Merguez Sausage-Saffron Broth
DESSERT:
(For Him) Mediterranean Lemon Tart: Honey Lavender Ice Cream
(For Her) Italian Chocolate Panna Cotta: Aromatic Pears, Chocolate Crunch
The verdict: Everything that came out of the kitchen for this menu was hearty, seasoned to perfection and left us dreaming about it a few days later. If you’re still on the lookout for where to enjoy Valentine’s, we can’t recommend Discovery Primea and all their amenities enough. This is truly a luxury hotel worth trying.
