Haven’t done of these in a while. Here are some books I’ve enjoyed in recent months.
Game of Thrones Books 1-5 by George R.R Martin: Beginning this series is like opening a can of Pringles. Once you pop, you just can’t stop. I thought one book equaled one season of the TV show, so I thought that stopping at book 3 would be simple. How wrong I was. I promise to not give any spoilers, but you’ve been warned.
Tell the Wolves I’m Home by Carol Rifka Brunt: A 14 year old girl shares her life through stories drenched in complicated versions of love that don’t make it any less special than the cookie-cutter kind. It’s a moving look at grief and friendship that will have you enjoy turning each page.
Sweet Tooth by Ian McEwan: It doesn’t get any more British than this slow burning tale of attraction laced with espionage. With each chapter, you wait for the pin to drop but are happily enjoying the ride in the process. Only a good writer can make that work and McEwan does it pretty effortlessly.
The Night Circus by Erin Morgensten: Who doesn’t love a bit of magic in their lives? This story will make you want to be 10 again and seeing the world through eyes open to things that can’t always be explained to be fully believed. There are rumours that this story of a magical circus is going to be turned into a movie soon and I would love to see how they intend to make this highly visual book come alive.
So what have you been reading these days?
I tried reading the first Game of Thrones book a year ago. I never made it to the next chapter. Haha. But I’ll try reading it again this year and get addicted to it. Same thing happened to me and the Lord of the Rings. Awesome books!!!
You know, I’ve never read anything by Tolkien. Thank you for reminding me that this should be the year to start. Hope you have a great year of reading ahead! 🙂

Happy New Year! =) Was able to read 2 Sophie Kinsella books this month. ‘Ive got your number ” and I love shopping in New York. I am really fond of the works of Ms.Kinsella since she has a witty sense of humour and sarcasm all rolled into one. But unfortunately ,I was not too keen on these two books. “Ive got your number” is just too over the top and has too melodramatic moments for me while “I love shopping still has the same old dilemma of the heroine , so I find it too boring to enjoy. I’m still a fan though! =) I’ll just pick a book of hers that has more realistic approach! Thanks for recommeding these books. I like fancy covers so maybe I’ll try to read “The Night Circus” first and see where it leads me! =) God Bless Ms.Cath and Family =)

I love Mists of Avalon. One of my old favorites. I’ve heard about Foer’s books, but I don’t think I’ll be ready to give up meat. Relish sounds extremely interesting. I’ll check it out! Thank you for letting me know! 🙂
