This post is definitely long overdue. Last February, we celebrated the first birthday of our littlest. Replaying when she first entered the world always brings a smile to my face. (You can read her birth story here, if you haven’t already). So it’s hard to believe that she’s already one. With Carl and I pretty much assuming that she will be our last child, it has definitely been bittersweet to see her grow.

Nara is a character, definitely less chill than her brother, especially when it comes to travel.She’s a kidder who enjoys pretending to give you something and then taking it back. She loves to walk and will throw a fit if you’re not following behind her. Her hair has taken on a life of its own and her ponytails are the best ever!

For her first birthday, I wanted a really laid back feel and if you remember the surprise party I threw Carl for his 40th last April, I decided to hold it in the same venue and get many of the same suppliers. Because if it isn’t broken, I don’t see the need to fix it.

Here are some snaps from her party taken by the very talented Den Llanos Dee of Delightful Little Darlings. I love how Den was able to get comfortable immediately with both the kids and adults, how she took the initiative to ask guests to smile for a photo, and had a number of tricks up her sleeve to make the children laugh. If you’re ever in need of a photographer for your events, I can’t recommend Den enough!
