It’s hard to believe it’s been a year since Fin arrived.
In these roughly 365 days, we’ve watched our tiny bundle of warm skin and big eyes grow into a curious walking toddler who bobbles his head to music, points when he wants to know the name of an object, and offers us limitless joy through his antics and naughty smiles.
I always knew that I wanted to have a little person to care for and I am blessed to have found a partner in Carl who wanted the same thing. No matter how much anyone tells you about how great it is to be a parent, I don’t think it’s possible to fully grasp what that means until it’s experienced firsthand.
Granted, at least for me, it wasn’t an instant surge of joy and maternal instincts. I didn’t wake up one morning, have a baby, and know exactly what to do — and even though I’ve definitely found my groove, there are days when I’m still not sure if I’ve got it down. But you know what? I’ve learned to accept that it’s perfectly fine. Parenthood is a journey with its hits and misses, it’s a road that should be filled with support and trust in your inner voice. Mistakes will most definitely be made along the way and you’ve just got to accept that it’s part of the story.
In celebration of our little milestone, here are some of the pictures Carl and I have collected of Fin through Instagram. Hope you like them as much as we enjoyed capturing them.
Ain’t motherhood the best? It has also helped us become nuch better person and it has stretched the limits of our hearts to boundaries unknown. Happy 1st birthday Fin! And kudos to you mommy Cat and daddy Carl for making it an awesome first year for him and for raising him so well! 🙂

Thanks you for being so generous in sharing Fin’s first year with us. I’m sorry I couldn’t make it today. I will make sure to arrange a get together when Tita Tipin is here next week. We really should see each other more often so we Lolas can enjoy seeing Fin grow up, and also to bond with you and Carl.

I’m fortunate that i was able to follow through your website/blog your journey.. Since I discovered your blog, I became a fan.
