It’s that time of the year once again where I invite everyone to come to the Glorietta Activity Center this weekend to help save an island.
Danjugan is a a lush 43-hectre marine sanctuary located in Negros, Philippines. My husband’s family has worked very hard to make sure that the island goes untouched and local plants and animals can thrive. There are no resorts on the island, no electricity, and water is collected from the rain. It is raw beauty in its purest form. Trust me when I tell you that it is one of the most beautiful places you will have a chance to see in the Philippines.
There are many ways you can help preserve this island for future generations:
1. You can visit the island. Danjugan is open for day tours or overnight stays. This is as close to nature as you’re going to get.
2. You can sponsor a marine camp. Danjugan hosts marine camps for public school kids to educate them on the importance of preserving our environment. The island’s team believes that these children will be the future leaders of their community and many them have already gone on to become marine biologists and environmental warriors.
3. You can sponsor a marine camper. If sponsoring an entire camp is a little over your budget, you are also welcome to sponsor just one child.
4. You can buy products at the Negros Trade Fair this weekend. Here are some of the adorable products that you can purchase. All proceeds will go towards preserving Danjugan.
Handmade key-chains:
Note cards with works of artists who donated to Danjugan’s cause:
Shirts for eco-warriors big or small:
