Beauty Review: La Mer’s The Concentrate & The Moisturizing Matte Lotion

La Mer recently invited me to learn more about two products in their line that are perfect for our tropical climate.

La Mer’s The Concentrate is described on the La Mer website as “a saviour of skin.”

The Concentrate helps our skin’s natural healing process with a powerful amount of La Mer’s miracle broth. It is designed to calm inflammation by cosmetic procedures such as chemical peels, microdermabrasion and laser treatments. Lest we forget that La Mer was created to soothe the burns of scientist Dr. Max Huber.

Thoroughly massage onto affected area at least twice per day. For optimal results, follow with your Crème de la Mer moisturizer.

I’ve been using this highly concentrated serum after my Laser Genesis treatment and when I feel that my skin needs to stabilise a bit. Just a small dollop of this translucent gel is all you need to spread throughout your face and neck. It has the most amazing consistency and you can really feel it going into your skin. So far it has not given me any breakouts and my skin feels incredible the next day. It’s also great for the man in your life!

I would recommend La Mer’s The Concentrate:

  1. If you’re in your mid 30s and up and have already began exploring peels and laser treatments.
  2. You’re looking for a serum to help heal and calm your skin.
  3. You have a big beauty budget to afford it’s hefty price.

La Mer’s New Moisturising Matte Lotion is perfect for our tropical country. “It defies the laws of moisture with healing hydration from Miracle BrothTM and a unique mattifying technology, to help soften away age, shine and pores. Uncover a freshly balanced complexion.”

This lotion is everything I need it to be and more. I use it as a primer to keep my skin moisturised without adding extra shine. It keeps my foundation in place and adds much needed moisture without making me look greasy.

I would recommend La Mer’s Moisturising Matte Lotion if:

  1. You’re prone to oily skin and enlarged pores.
  2. You’re looking for a moisturiser that doesn’t feel heavy or sticky in our humid weather.
  3. You want a primer/moisturizer that will give your skin nutrients without adding grease.

You can purchase La Mer in the Philippines at Rustan’s Department Store.
