Why I Love My A.P.C Half Moon Bag from Shop Stellin

A simple fact about me, I don’t own any designer bags. Yes, I can appreciate their beauty and craftsmanship that goes into making these arm candies, but the idea of paying enough money to put a number of children to school for just a bag is beyond my comprehension. Lo and behold, here is the closest I will probably ever get to owning one: The A.P.C Half Moon Bag

A.P.C stands for Atelier de Production et de Création and is described by Wikipedia as  “A French ready-to-wear brand founded in 1987 by the Tunisian Jewish fashion designer Jean Touitou in Paris. The brand is known for its minimalist designs. Its clothing features clean lines and simple patterns.”

A.P.C. clothing and bags are made in classic styles that are made to last for years. Nothing too trendy or too dated can be found in their collections, which is exactly the way I like it.

I first saw A.P.C’s signature Half-Moon bag when my super stylish friend Bianca Santiago-Reinoso brought hers to an eventand if it’s cool enough for super stylish Bianca it definitely gets my vote.

I was thrilled to discover that local online store Shop Stellin carried these beauties, so I quickly made a reservation for one. Here are some other photos from Shop Stellin on the different colors of these bags. I chose the Chestnut Brown version, while my friend Patty Laurel chose the Peacock Blue, Bianca has it in Natural Beige. Another beautiful color is Burnt Orange which can be seen below.

Here are the specs and description for the Half-Moon Bag (photos from A.P.C)

A simple A.P.C. cross-body bag, rendered in smooth leather. The top zip opens to a lined, 1-pocket interior. Adjustable shoulder strap. Dust bag included.

Leather: Cowhide.

Made in Portugal.

Measurements
Height: 7.75in / 20cm
Length: 9.5in / 24cm
Depth: 2.5in / 6.5cm

It’s got beautiful leather and quality hardware that get even better with age. I can’t say it’s the type of bag that will fit everything (I don’t even bother fitting my camera in here), but on days when I want to travel light with a wallet, phone, and lipstick and powder, this is the bag for me. Definitely something I plan to keep for many years to come.

A.P.C’s beautiful bags are available in the Philippines through Shop Stellin.
