Over half a year ago, Patty, Nicole, and I together with our husbands began planning an epic adventure to South Africa. Africa has always been on my bucket list so I was counting the days till we would be able to experience this continent for ourselves. Cape Town was our first stop and it’s no wonder that this city is often called the most beautiful in the world.
Cape Town’s natural mountains and rock formations make for the most beautiful scenery with each turn being more breath-taking than the next. It’s little pockets of colonial architecture and incredible interiors make for eye-candy almost everywhere that you go. Think of it as a mix of Sydney, San Francisco, Malibu, and any other European influenced colony you love. I think it’s safe to say we were all pleasantly surprised by Cape Town and would definitely go back in a heart beat.

Itinerary
- Enjoyed a private Franschhoek city tour with Huguenot chocolate factory and Boschendal Manor & Winery cellar tour. We also stopped by La Residencia, the most beautiful boutique hotel I’ve ever seen.
- We had a 6-course set lunch at Blaauwklippen Wine Estate Restaurant in Stellenbosch and Nicole got to open a champagne bottle with a sword!
- We went to Hout Bay for a full day Peninsula tour includes Sea Point, Clifton Beach, Bantry Bay, Maidens Cove, Camps Bay. We then went to Boulders Beach to view the penguin colony. Unless you have a zoom lens the seals aren’t going to be too easy to see.
- We went to Cape Point Nature Reserve and took a funicular to the Light House at the top. Then, drove towards the most South-West point on the African continent – The Cape Of Good Hope.
- We went to Table Mountain and enjoyed breathtaking 360 degree cable car ride to the top we also got to see Signal Hill. We honestly wish the time we had at Table Mountain was longer. So much to appreciate from that view.
- We went on a helicopter flight over Cape Town for views of City bowl, Green Point Stadium, Beaches of Clifton, White sands of Camps Bay, and Majestic 12 Apostles. It was only 15 minutes but it was amazing! Highly recommended.
- We had a private Cape Town city tour where we got to see The Castle of Good Hope, Bo Kaap / Malay Quarter, Houses of Parliament, The Cape Town City Hall, The Iziko Slave Museum, The Company Gardens, The Green Point Stadium – city tour ends back at the V&A Waterfront.
- We took an Ameera Sunset Catamaran Cruise from the V&A Waterfront that was the perfect way to end our Cape Town adventure.
Delicious Restaurants
- La Parada Del Mar at Camps Bay: Beautiful interiors and delicious tapas
- Grand Beach: A beach front bar and restaurant that has super yummy mussels and hamburgers
- Cape to Cuba: Live bands on weekends and super yummy Cuban food.
- Mothers Ruins: A gin bar that is the perfect end to a long day of touring.
- The Pot Luck Club: A little pricey, but worth stopping by for the yummy small meals and pretty interiors
