Disney Junior Wants To Animate Your Imagination

With Fin being three years old, we now allow him two hours of TV a day. But with him still being quite young, we make sure to monitor the type of programs he watches. I have to say that Disney Junior is definitely our go-to channel for his TV time. We love how the programs on Disney Junior don’t promote violence, encourage a sense of adventure, and are actually fun for us to watch with him. His favorite shows are Jake and The Never Land Pirates, Miles from Tomorrowland, and Sofia the First.

It’s great how even after the TV is off, Fin enjoys taking inspiration from the characters and incorporates them into his play. He climbs rocks looking for buried treasure, pretends our carpet can take off and fly, and makes his pillows into planets from outer space. With such a fantastic imagination, I knew I definitely had to take up Disney Junior’s challenge to capture one of his stories with the chance that they might animate it. Can you imagine how awesome it would be for Fin to see his own story being shown on Disney Junior? If that’s not core memory material, I don’t know what is.

So one afternoon, Fin, Nara, myself, and Carl sat down to create a story with either the theme of Pirates, Princesses, or Space Adventure. We documented the story through a photo (and took some videos for ourselves) and submitted to Disney Junior through their site. We had such a great time thinking up the next turn and twist to our story and hearing where Fin’s mind was taking him. Here are some pictures from our afternoon.

Are you interested in doing the same with your children. It’s easy, here are the instructions and some FAQs from Disney Junior:
