Heima x Googly Gooeys = Oh Brighter Days

Whenever I get invited to do a craft session, I can’t help but feel a little giddy.

Now combine that invite with my favorite craft of all time (watercolor), to be done in a beautiful location (Heima), with fun people (Patty Laurel and Rica Peralejo to name a few), plus a talented teacher (Tippy of Googly Gooeys) and you have just described my dream weekend afternoon.

Heima recently partnered with Tippy and Anthony of Googly Gooey’s to bring to life Oh Brighter Days (#OhBD): a home accessories collection that blends Scandinavian inspired furniture designs with bright strokes of color and black and white imagery from recent travels. Here are some of their beautiful pieces:

Tippy and Anthony are best known for their alter egos: Tipsy and Ponggo

Here’s one of my favorite cartoons from their site (so true! Haha!):

Tippy was sweet enough to share her talents by teaching us a whole bunch of water color techniques. Like sprinkling salt on a dark background to give the illusion of stars!

We were also treated to delicious food from some northern establishments: Stuffies from Cookie Bar Manila, Tea from Bayani Brew, delicious sandwiches from The Galley, and one of the yummiest coffees I’ve had in a while from Easy Skate Surf.

Here are some snaps of us busy with our watercolour practice sheets.
