L’Indochine Workshops x Life After Breakfast

A few weeks after Nara was born, Patty Laurel-Filart invited me to attend a special workshop that I knew I couldn’t pass up on. It was a chance to learn the art of batik making with my fave craft teacher Alessandra Lanot. This unique workshop was held at the flagship store of L’Indochine at SM Megamall.  (All the beautiful photos are courtesy of Patty!)

This store seriously looked like Alibaba’s treasure cave with beautiful accessories, homeware, and clothes from exotic places. This workshop served as the start of the many workshops they plan to have at this beautiful location in the very near future.

I love how Charlene and Leona get to travel the world in seek of beautiful treasures to bring home to us. They are seriously my new life pegs.

P1290568We didn’t learn how to to do the traditional batik method of wax and constant re-dipping. Instead we learned how to use fabric dye and glue to make a similar type of design. How cute are these batik trays from L’indochine, though.

Here are a whole bunch of photos from the afternoon all courtesy of Patty:
