Reading: The Fault In Our Stars

“That’s the thing about pain… It demands to be felt.”

I read this book months ago but wanted to give it the respect it deserved by waiting till my new site was up to share it.

It’s one of the saddest stories I’ve read in a while. A love story that you hope and pray will survive the odds. It leaves its readers with the key message that life can be unfair and present you with obstacles you didn’t deserve, but there is beauty and love to be found in overcoming them.

Some other quotes from the book I enjoyed:

“Some infinities are bigger than other infinities.”

“You don’t get to choose if you get hurt in this world, old man, but you do have some say in who hurts you.”

What are you reading these days?

  1. I’m reading one of the books I found in your site Ms. Cat. The one written by Rainbow Rowell, Eleanor and Park. Last week, I was also able to finish another book, Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides. I’m gonna be reading this next!

    • Hi Joy!

I’m so happy you’re enjoying my book recommendations! Please feel free to recommend some of your own as well. 🙂

  2. Oh, my heart. I love this book.

  3. Thanks for the book recommendation. I’m reading Celine Lopez’ The Recorded History of A Girl and I wanted to know what you thought of it? 🙂

    • Thanks for stopping by! It wouldn’t have been my usual book choice. I found it difficult to sympathize or relate to her protagonist during most of the chapters. I also had a hard time feeling the passage of time in her voice. But it was light enough to be an enjoyable distraction for a day or two. My favorite letter was the one she wrote her son before his first date. Looking forward to hearing what you thought of it!

  4. I love this book… I’ve written the same quotes on my journal.

Have you read gone girl? or i think the best book i’ve read this year is the room, great book! or maybe that’s just me because I’m a mother. Please check those books, if you still haven’t.

Love your book recommendation, btw and the new site too. 🙂

    • Hi there! I liked ‘Gone Girl’ a lot. It was such a page turner. The ending left little to be desired, though. I’m definitely going to check out ‘Room’. Thank you for the recommendation. 🙂
